Reducing re-offending and social exclusion through innovative training; promoting increased understanding, personal change and skill sets necessary when working with marginalised groups, challenging behaviour and poor motivation. Veterans in the Justice System - RSA Comment
Having marked Remembrance Day, it is time to turn our attention to those veterans who suffer mental ill-health. Military veterans are over represented in the criminal justice system. Recognising how so many have risked their lives for their country, this situation flies in the face of the spirit enshrined within the Military Covenant and demands change - see RSA Comment -http://comment.rsablogs.org.uk/2011/11/04/justice-system-military-veterans/ .
Further information can also be seen at http://www.lifechangeuk.com/supporting-the-military-covenant/ .
By providing an alternative to custody, we can reduce the likelihood of re-offending and enable veterans to regain their sense of pride and self-worth.
Please pass to all those who you believe might be able to assist.
